Types of Therapy

Below is a list of the types of therapy and counselling services that your therapist may offer. Some of these options may be available for remote or online therapy:

Counselling & Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

Therapy sessions are usually once weekly, though may increase up to twice weekly in order to work at a deeper level.

Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy

Aims to work at a deeper level and is likely to involve more than one session per week for an open-ended period of time.

Psychoanalysis

4 or 5 times a week using the psychoanalytic couch for an open-ended period of time.

Couples Therapy

An opportunity to explore your relationship. This can be prompted by particular problems or general difficulties and can be for a fixed period of time or open-ended.

Training Therapy

Training therapy is for student therapists and counsellors and will be shaped by the particular requirements of their training body.

Supervision

For qualified and trainee counsellors and therapists.
